Training Courses

DomeShells Builder Certification

DomeShells builder training courses are scheduled according to need. The courses run for 7 days for up to six people per course.

Participants will construct a 3.0m diameter Domeshell. Focus will be on the practical development of materials handling and fabrication skills applicable to any size of dome.

On completion students will be issues with a “DomeShells Certificate of Attendance”. Licensed Builder Attendees in Australia are eligible to build DomeShells homes under the terms of our license agreement.

Who Can Attend?

Licensed builders, existing trade’s people or people familiar with building disciplines and anyone else interested are welcome to retrain and be part of the future of Domeshells.

Accommodation

Participants are required to arrange their own accommodation and meals (assistance can be provided to secure local budget accommodation)

Course Fees

AUS$3,000.00 plus GST - (earlybird discount available)

Course Duration

7 day intensive by attendance only.

Materials and Protective Clothing

All materials, stationary, manuals and protective work ware are provided.

    Course Competency Outcomes

    The Course will aim to achieve competency of the following during the construction of a 3.0m diameter Domeshell:

    • Materials Handling ; DynaCrete GRC (Glass Reinforced Concrete) handling and applications - theory and practice.
    • Setting up the air-form, airlock, inflator fans and preparations for commencement of construction.
    • Preparation and application of first GRC layer.
    • Preparation and application of polyurethane foam.
    • Fabrication of openings and external hoods.
    • Preparation and application of final composite GRC layer.
    • Engineering & structural principals and constraints.
    • Methodology of construction.
    • Quality control systems and procedures.
    • Licensee obligations.
