Training Courses

DomeShells Builder Certification

DomeShells builder training courses are scheduled according to need. The courses run approximately 10 working days for up to six people per course.

The course focuses on the development of skills required for application of the construction system and a thorough understanding of the construction manuals, performance specifications and quality control systems.

On successful attainment of competency standards, graduates are awarded a “DomeShells Certificate of Competency”. Licensed Builder Graduates in Australia will qualify to build DomeShells homes under the terms of our license agreement.

Existing trade’s people or people familiar with building disciplines are welcome to retrain and be part of the future of building. They will however be subject to the same criteria regarding attainment of competencies.

Participants are required to arrange their own accommodation (assistance can be provided)

Course Duration

10 day intensive by attendance only.

All training materials, stationary and manuals are provided.

Course Competency Outcomes

Minimum standards of competency will generally be required under the folowing:

• Materials Handling and Equipment Operation; GRC (Glass Reinforced Concrete) handling and applications - theory and practice.
• Equipment operation, care and maintenance. Slab Former System setup.
• Constructing a 3.0m DomeShell.
• Air Former and Rigid Former Setup.
• Preparation and application of first GRC layer.
• Preparation and application of polyurethane foam.
• Preparation and application of final composite GRC layer.
• Engineering & structural principals and constraints.
• Methodology of construction.
• Quality control systems and procedures.
• Licensee obligations.
