The Three 8.0 m Diameter Multi Dome House
These 3 domes are linked together forming one multi dome house. The domes are connected by a 2.0m wide connection passage.
How to Build a Dome Structure
There are several ways to build dome structures. None of them are necessarily easy and most of them require significant amount of labour.
The system used to build these three domes is basically the same system that Domeshells has been using to build most of it’s dome projects. The dome building system utilises an air former which is inflated over the slab or edge beam. Once inflated the inside of the former balloon is accessed through a simple air lock chamber. The shell is made up of two structural layers of GRC either side of a polyurethane foam core.
The example in the image is made with off-white cement. The core is 60 mm wide with 8 mm GRC coatings either side.
