Kalachakra World Peace Stupa
Domeshells Builds Kalachakra World Peace Stupa at Crystal Castle, Byron Bay.
The Kalachakra Stupa, which is the first of its kind to be built in the Southern Hemisphere, aims to protect against negative energies and restore balance to the earth in times of war, conflict and environmental destruction – says Gen Lama Thupten Phontsok, who has provided guidance on the Stupa design and dimensions.

Traditionally such a structure would be built out of stone, brick and/or concrete. The Stupa is built in stages with ceremonies at each stage of construction over a period of weeks or months.
Domeshells designed a way to fabricate the external shell elements in GRC which tie together around a steel central column and internal masonry columns supporting intermediate slabs. The elements go together forming separate chambers for placing sacred objects at the ceremony stages.
“The patterning and molding of the shells was an intricate piece of work” says Chris Brown, Domeshells CEO. “It’s a very unusual and interesting project and it’s been a privilege to be involved.”
Monks Decorate the Stupa – Next Stage
We are looking forward to the Monks return on the 25th January to start the process of all the incredible relief art decorations which will adorn the Stupa . This process will be open to the public for a number of days and otherwise the Stupa during all its stages of construction can be seen at the Crystal Castle, Byron bay. http://www.crystalcastle.com.au/peace-project/
To complete all the work may take days or weeks.
Hope to have more news later in January.
