Engineered, Architectural Elements
GRC is one of the most under-utilised building materials, mostly because the general design industry is not fully aware of its capabilities. It is capable of being moulded/cast/fabricated into almost any shape, colour or texture.
Glass Fibre Reinforced Concrete (GRC) is used extensively overseas for a
wide range of building products such as high rise cladding systems.
DomeShells is one of only a small number of GRC manufacturing facilities
in Australia currently supplying a wide range of products for the
landscape and architectural industry
GRC architectural elements are considerably thinner walled than conventional steel reinforced concrete as the glass reinforcement takes the place of the steel, producing elements such as high rise cladding systems with high tensile and flexural strength. The weight factor of such GRC systems can save up to
80% compared to steel reinforced elements.
