DomeShells Certified Builder Training

DomeShells builder training courses are scheduled to commence in February/March 2008 for builders wishing to become Franchisee builders that meet our criteria. This training is competency based and all participants must meet DomeShells high standards of quality to successfully complete the course.

Pre-Requisites for a Full Licensee Builder

The applicant must:

be a current, licensed builder in any state of Australia.

have a proven track record of quality and service

attend with a minimum of four additional trades people

be financially capable (acceptable to DomeShells)

agree to all terms and conditions of the license and training

Unlicensed and Non Trade Qualified Attendees

These applicants will not be excluded from completing a training and will undergo the same training as all other applicants and be subject to competency tests for a certificate of competency but will not be entitled to build DomeShells technology under license.

Course Competency Outcomes

Including but not limited to: agree to all terms and conditions of the training and license agreement

Materials Handling - theory and practice

Equipment operation, cleaning and maintenance

Engineering & structural principals and constraints - theory

Methodology of construction - theory

Quality control systems and procedures

Setting up the slab - theory & practice

Setting up the air former or rigid former - theory and practical

Preparation for first composite layer - practical

Application of first composite layer - practical

Preparing for and application of polyurethane foam - practical

Preparation for and application of final composite layer - practical

Installation of windows doors and skylights - practical

Practical application - attendees will fully construct a 3.0m
diameter DomeShell

Licensee obligations

All attendees will be tested in every aspect of the training program and will receive a Certificate of Competency when successfully completed. Successful completion will entitle the Licensed Builder (subject to DomeShells terms and Conditions) to enter an exclusive license agreement with DomeShells.

Course Commencement Dates- Length of course is approximately four weeks. Courses commence approximately every 5 weeks depending on various conditions and circumstances.
