What You Will Learn at This Dome Building Workshop
We will cover many essential and associated topics by lecture and discussion but most of the time we will be building the dome
- basic design principals of Bamboo/Ferro-cement shell structures
- types of bamboo, harvesting, treating and splitting
- how to calculate quantities of materials for any size dome
- how to use the split bamboo to form a dome (or any other) shape
- how to attach the mesh to the bamboo frame
- how to apply layers of render to the structure
- how to create openings for doors and windows
- what alternative materials can be used
- how to comply with the Building Code of Australia
