Breaking News: DomeShells Pioneers the Use of Basalt Reinforcing for Residential Concrete Dome Shell Structures
Born and bred in Byron Bay – First Time Under Australian Building Code
170-square-meter, 3 x 8.0m dome home under construction in NSW Northern Rivers is scheduled for completion in May 2019.
A first for Australia and maybe the world. Domeshells has developed the simplest and most efficient method for constructing dome and compound-curved buildings. Cyclone rated, fireproof, termite-proof and forming beautiful, comfortable compound curved interiors and walls that nurture the human spirit.
“It has taken many years of testing, trial and error to arrive at the most cost-effective and simple method. My vision is to see our system adopted all over the world for climate-proof housing. They are virtually indestructible and cost competitive against all other methods of construction” – Chris Brown, CEO of Domeshells.
We will soon reveal the first of a series of modular mould systems of different dome sizes that will make building dome homes faster than any other in-situ construction system.
Workshops and Training for DIY and Builders
Domeshells recently completed a training workshop for six students over six days. The students were able to construct a 3.0m diameter dome with door and window in the six days. The method we teach is simple enough for DIY or owner-builders. And the system is infinitely creative in designing bespoke structures.
