Shannon is a very practical person and seemed to have no problems designing and building this beautiful 7.0m diameter bamboo ferro cement dome in Bali Indonesia.

One big thing was in his favor and that is there is a thriving bamboo industry in Indonesia and unlike many Western countries, bamboo is a well-known and common building material.

Domes built in the same way in Lombok at the “Mentigi Bay Resort” survived a massive earthquake that flattened many of the buildings in the local towns but left the dome resort completely undamaged.
